Each of the game’s three acts is split into several unique story missions, and there are intervals where you’ll need to complete two or three side missions to progress. Regarding missions, as mentioned earlier, Gears Tactics’ campaign is fairly linear, although there are a few caveats. Oddly enough, it looks like you can put a full beard on anyone: The main characters have their own unique looks, but the generic soldiers you recruit can be further personalized through different hairstyles, scars, and tattoos. When it comes to customization options, you can fine tune your teammates through weapon and armor accessories, as well as paint jobs. However, it’s also worth noting that a handful of these skills are so integral to missions that you’ll likely ignore the others in favor of efficiency. There are 30 skills for each of the game’s five classes for a whopping 150 perks you can choose from. Upgrading them through kills gives you additional skill points which can be awarded. You will recruit new soldiers who become available, and each has a specific class or build. Think about Gear tactics like XCOM in the Weaponry of war vein. In typical Weaponry of war Fashion, however, sometimes the campaign reaches grandiose levels thanks to a few cutscenes. The story in Gear tactics is quite linear, with a few twists and turns that won’t surprise anyone.
